SEEN: Day Ravies – “This Side Of The Fence”

It’s been a while since we’ve had fresh bones to gnaw on from Sydney’s experimental pop outfit (and best-named band ever) Day Ravies, but it’s usually worth the wait. Moving slightly off course from the more shoegazey tendencies of last year’s Tussle LP, new one “This Side Of The Fence” now gets a bit of film to go with its bleepy, reverb-drenched oddness. Bassist and vocalist Caroline de Dear is once again behind it, and it’s as brilliantly retina-ruining as its predecessors – somewhere between classic 35mm film and a special effects editor with a headache, this is just the ticket to accompany its soundtrack.
